Legal
Waiver
Effective October 18, 2026. This waiver is for anyone who plays at Score Up Arcade in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles, and for the adult who books a party or brings guests. Read it before you book or play. Booking a party, or entering the floor to play, means you accept it.
The risks
An arcade is a physical place. Cabinets, racing rigs, simulators, prize games, floors, stairs, other guests, and ordinary equipment can cause bumps, falls, motion sickness, strains, and more serious injury. Games can stop, restart, or move suddenly. You can also lose or damage personal items you bring in.
You decide if a game is safe for you. If you are pregnant, have a heart condition, a back or neck problem, a seizure condition, or any other condition that motion or flashing lights can affect, do not use simulators or other games that are a poor fit. Staff can refuse a game when it looks unsafe.
Your promise
- You will follow staff instructions and the posted rules.
- You will not use a machine in a way it was not built for.
- You will watch the children you bring. The booking adult is responsible for their group.
- You will not run, climb on machines, or put food or drinks on the games. Pizza and cake stay at the party table.
- If you or a guest is hurt, or something breaks, you will tell staff before you leave.
Release
To the fullest extent California law allows, you release Score Up Arcade and its owners, staff, and agents from claims, demands, and causes of action arising out of ordinary negligence connected with your visit, your party's visit, or use of the games. This includes injury, illness, and loss of property.
This release does not cover gross negligence, recklessness, or intentional harm. It does not waive a right that California law does not allow a customer to waive.
California Civil Code section 1542
You waive the protection of California Civil Code section 1542, which says that a general release does not extend to claims the releasing party does not know or suspect to exist at the time of the release, and which if known would have materially affected the settlement with the released party. You understand that you may be giving up unknown claims, to the extent the law allows.
Minors
A parent or legal guardian who books a party, or who brings a minor onto the floor, accepts this waiver for that minor and has the authority to do so. The adult agrees to watch the minor and to be responsible for the minor's conduct and for damage the minor causes beyond ordinary use.
At the door
When the doors are open, staff may also ask for a signed copy before play. If a signed copy and this page ever differ, the signed copy controls for that visit. Until a signed copy is used, this page is the waiver.
